The exciting trip to ‘Anubhav Rocksport Camp’ at Jim Corbett and
Nainital was designed for boys of grade 6 – 10, to enable them
experience adventure and participate in adrenaline thrilling activities
in the lap of nature. Two groups viz. “Avengers” and “Spartans”,
comprising of 59 boys and 7 teachers, enthusiastically participated in
this adventure sport and the six day exploratory trip. The entire group
checked into well maintained wooden cottages after reaching camp Anubhav
at Jim Corbett.
On day 1: The groups attended a session wherein they were briefed about
camping manners and enjoyed playing scrambling and learning about tying
various types of knots. Later they went into forest to do Ziplining
activity. The day concluded with an amazing bonfire, journal writing and
dinner.
Day 2:
The groups went for Rappelling, an essential
climbing skill, enjoyed by everyone and body surfing in the cool waters
of the canal. Later, they also went for pug mark study with local wild
life conservationist and botanist who showed and described the flora and
fauna in the neighbourhood and informed them about its utility in our
daily life.
Later that evening both groups took part in night trek to become aware
of the dangers in the forest. The Night Trek was spooky walking with
lanterns in hand and surrounded by all those jungle sounds! |

Day 3: It started with visit to Kyari village where
the boys enjoyed eating the local fruits like Litchis and gaining
first-hand knowledge about rural life by taking interview of the local
villagers. Later they packed their suitcases for moving to Nainital. In
the afternoon they went for Jeep Safari into Jim Corbett forest where
they saw tiger, barking deer, sambar deer and spotted deer. After safari
they left for Nainital by bus and checked into beautiful bamboo cottages
perched on hill top.
Day 5: Early morning boys left for survival trek, a walk uphill to a
flat area called tiffin top where the children cooked noodles and
prepared tea. After breakfast the two groups were pitted in a mock game
called the guerrilla warfare which tested all the skills they had been
taught so far. The face paints made it all the more exciting. Evening
trip to the Mall Road the market on one side and the lake on the other,
gave a glimpse of scenic beauty. |
